We headed on further up till the Elephant lake – with our jeep driver offering a “prize for guessing what the shape is”… Turtuk is a picturesque border village in Nubra Valley in Leh. Ross and Smith Island (Smith and Ross) are about 25 minutes by boat from Diglipur in North Andaman Islands (Andaman & Nicobar). Though these are commonly referred to as twin islands, they are actually a single island sperated by a sandy stretch which makes it appear like two seperate islands.

It takes a few hours of journey from Kaza to reach Langzha. This place is not often visited by the tourists because of its remote location. The village consists of a few families, a monastery and a huge statue of Buddha against snow clad peaks. It adds to the unique geography, climate and landscape of Spiti. Popularly known as Madhuri Lake, it is located 35 kms away from Tawang near the China Border. The drive to Sangestser Lake is full of excitement and thrill and one can still see the war bunkers that had been used during the Chineses aggression in 1962. On the way one more famous lake named PTSO can be seen. A circle around the lake will take nearly half a day.
